PROJECT
Project title: Chicken Project
FUNDING
Total amount awarded by HOPE587 for an incubator: 1600 USD
The grant recipient: Harold Haamumba
10 start kits per month during 2018 (one start kit costs 420 ZMW).
PROJECT PLAN
Harold Haamumba is the Spiritual Director at Beit Cure Hospital in Zambia. The hospital conducts over
1600 surgeries every year and he meets hundreds of women who bring their children to the hospital to
get help. Most of the mothers come from humble and poor backgrounds. Over the years Harold
Haamumba have seen that food is often a challenge for the mothers, which affect the healing and
growth of the children. They also cannot afford to buy school uniforms and shoes for their children.
Harold Haamumba himself owns a chicken farm and he wants to supply village chickens for the mothers
to start their own farms. Harold Haamumba will provide training and education and give 20 chickens
per mother.
AGREEMENT HOPE587 will donate money to Harold Haamumba so he can buy an incubator to easier feed up chickens. He will supply 200 chickens each month valued 2000 ZMW, to the chicken project, during the entire year of 2018 (which is equal to 24 000 ZMW, which will pay for the incubator). The goal is to help 10 mothers per month during 2018 which equals 120 mothers a year. HOPE587 will sponsor the project with the start kits for the mothers (except the chickens).
